WOMEN & LEADERSHIP

Terrie O’Hanlon has been designing and directing marketing organizations for more than 20 years, ranging from early stage start-up companies to Fortune 500 corporations. Her career has included developing strategies for initial public offerings; corporate divisions for spin-off; merging corporate entities and creating cohesive positioning and marketing strategies.

She has helped launch products and services across a range of categories including: consumer products; publishing; complex enterprise-level software; personal computing software; computing hardware from PC peripherals to mainframes; strategic consulting services; electronic commerce products and services; telecommunications products and services; and financial services. She has directed these strategies from executive-level positions at both companies and marketing consulting firms.

As an executive in a two-career family with three children, Terrie brings an intimate perspective to leadership development for women and to creating and maintaining work-life balance. As a marketing executive who has built and directed marketing teams for organizations in early stage, high-growth, divestiture and acquisition stages, Terrie helps maintain high performance in changing organizations, while strengthening teamwork and alignment between sales and marketing organizations.

Her corporate career includes positions with AT&T, CheckFree, Medaphis (now Per-Se Technologies), Dun & Bradstreet Software (now part of Geac Corporation), and The Software Link. Her marketing consulting career includes executive positions with InContext Group, which she founded in 2003 to deliver strategic positioning and sales and marketing alignment services; Crescent Communications (now part of Ketchum Worldwide), which provides marketing consulting and creative agency services to technology companies; and the Magazine Publishers Association, which provides consumer life cycle and competitive research and marketing consulting services to more than 200 publishing companies with 1,200+ consumer publication titles.

The teams that Terrie has led over her career have received a variety of awards, including the Silver Anvil for Marketing Consumer Services, and the Bronze Anvil for Business to Business Media Relations, both granted by the Public Relations Society of America; The Annual Marketing Award for Excellence , granted by Georgia State University; and numerous top awards for film and video used for marketing and corporate communications, including the Aurora Award, the Summit Creative Award, and the Cinema in Industry Award.

Terrie holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Florida, where she was honored as Valedictorian.
